Welcome to HGG

Scremerston shoreFounded in 1995 the Huddersfield Geology Group is a group of amateur geologists, many of whom have enjoyed studying the subject at evening classes in the area, and are enthusiastic about finding out more about the geology of the Yorkshire Pennines. The talks are generally informal and we welcome anyone with an interest in rocks and landscapes, amateur or professional. The group's aims are to promote an understanding of rocks and landscapes in the Huddersfield area and to produce information for general interest and teaching materials in schools and colleges.

We meet on the second or third Monday in each month at Greenhead College in the centre of Huddersfield. See our Talks Programme. We also arrange Field Events both locally and further afield.

Next meeting at Greenhead College :

Next field trip : Fri/Sat/Sun 11th – 12th May 2013
